Teotihuacan is a prehispanic city near Mexico City. The origin of this city is a mystery, nobody knows which culture was the founder of this place, when the Aztecs came to this part of the country they have found the city already abandoned. Le Morne, Mauritius

Le Morne is a peninsula at the island of Mauritius. It is highlighted by an huge basaltic monolith with a summit 556 metres above sea level. It includes several caves and rocks where slaveds used to hide. It has also seen some pirate activities in the past. From a friend met at Postcrossing.com.


Ġgantija

My husband had this colleague in the sales department. They often worked together so he mentioned her name often. But it took me a couple of years to reaalise that we spend a year in the same classroom when we were eleven. This is small world indeed.

Those megalithic structures are the Ġgantija temples in Xaghra, in Malta. They were built over five thousand years ago. UNESCO World Heritage Site.


Putra Mosque

The Putra Mosque in Putraja features a single minaret consisting of five tiers, rising 115 meters high.  According to Imaisha who has sent it and who has visited and prayed inside, is is amazing both inside and outside. Hiroshima

This building used to be the Prefectural Commercial Exhibition in Hiroshima. Until 6th August 1945, when the world's first atomic bomb was dropped on the city. Ambohimanga in Madagascar

Ambohimanga is one of twelve sacreed mounts and traditional fortified royal settlement around Tanarive, the capital city of Madagascar. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. From Christine. And I am so sorry to admit I do not know who she is. A friend of a friend I assume.


Riga

The duke of Liechtenstein is still living in his castle on the hill so visitors are not allowed. Though we did try to peep through the fence.


Libya

In my former company I have mentioned once on an employees forum that I collect postcards. And that I try to get one from every country on the planet. Some months later I found this one in my tray. The colleague who has sent it was kind to write on it his name and the department he works for. With over a thousand employees, I would not even know where to look for my unexpected Santa Claus.
